Phoenix, AZ (AHN) - Jeremy Roenick isn't quite ready to hang 'em up.
The veteran Phoenix Coyotes forward intends to play next season, and is willing to sign for the league minimum of $450,000, as long as he is in the right situation.
"It's not about money right now," Roenick told the Arizona Republic. "I don't care (about that). It's just to play and have fun and play on a team that fits my heart and my mind."
Roenick added that he would only play a 19th NHL season if he signed with Phoenix, Chicago or two other teams on his list.
"Playing in Arizona has been such a treat for me," Roenick said. "Playing for Wayne Gretzky has been such a treat for me. His presence, you never get used to it."
This season, Roenick registered 11 goals and 17 assists in 70 games. He netted career goal No. 495 in Sunday's 3-1 season-finale win over the Vancouver Canucks.
