Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (AHN) - U.S. carrier United Airlines will start flying passengers and cargo between Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Los Angeles, California via Hong Kong, China on Oct. 29, Vietnam's media reported. According to Vietzon.com, the only U.S. airline serving Vietnam announced to reporters the opening of the second gateway to California on Monday. The airline already flies between Ho Chi Minh City and San Francisco. It also links the Vietnam capital to Chicago, Illinois. United Airlines will fly a Boeing B747-400 aircraft in the new route. The airline's country manager in Vietnam, Joe Mannix, said the flights to Los Angeles will appeal to customers from Vietnam because it is home to the biggest population of Vietnamese in the United States. United Airlines started serving Vietnam three years ago.
