Cleveland, Ohio (AHN) - Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath said the shooting at the SuccessTech Academy in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday afternoon was not random as the gunman was believed to be shooting at specific targets.

McGrath said 14-year-old Asa Coon targeting specific targets. Coon was upset after he was suspended by school authorities Monday for fighting.

"We do not believe this was a random shooting," McGrath said.

"It may have been the teachers he went to the school looking for. ... I believe they disciplined him in some manner

Coon walked into the halls of the SuccessTech Academy in Cleveland, Ohio at 1:15 pm Wednesday and began firing his gun in each hand, wounding four before killing himself and shocking fellow students and the whole nation.

McGrath said Coon a ninth grade student in the school and described by his classmates as "odd," shot two adult men, both teachers, 57 and 42 years old; and two teenage males, 17 and 14 years old.

After the smokes have cleared, five people had been shot, but Coon was the lone fatality after shooting himself inside a classroom.

McGrath said responding police found a .22- caliber revolver and .38-caliber revolver near boy's body, along with a box of ammunition and three knives.

Mayor Frank Jackson said that a 14-year-old female hurt her knee in the chaos, he added.

One of the victims, Darnell Rodgers, was in a stairway when the shooting started. He said he heard students screaming and running past him before realizing he was shot.

"They were screaming, 'Oh my God! Oh my God,'" said Rodgers, a senior student at the school. He added he felt a "burning" sensation on his arm and realized he was shot in the elbow.

Jackson said the two wounded students were now in stable condition but the two adults were "slightly elevated," when asked of their conditions.

Coon arrived at school after 1pm Wednesday and began firing his guns.

Another student, Ronnell Jackson, 15, told the police he saw Coon running down the hall and ducked after seeing the shooter pointing his gun at him.

He said, "He was about to shoot me, but I got out just in time. He was aiming at me, I got out just in time."

Doneisha Le Vert, a student at SuccessTech said, "He's crazy. He threatened to blow up our school. He threatened to stab everybody." She adds she heard the school principal issuing a "Code Blue" alert over the intercom.

McGrath adds Coon had a previous record after he was arrested last year on domestic violence incident. The police had searched his home in the past for incidents involving weapons.

His locker had been searched by the police after the shooting .
