Actor Jude Law Cleared Of Assault Charge

London, England (CNS) - Academy Award-nominated English actor Jude Law has been cleared in a paparazzi attack case. The 34-year-old actor was arrested last month after he allegedly attacked a photographer outside his London home.

"The police have told me that they and the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully and made the decision that there is no further action to be taken," a spokesperson for the actor said, adding that the actor was "delighted to have been vindicated."

Law had been accused of trying to grab a camera from the photographer following an argument between the two. He later voluntarily turned himself in to a nearby police station and since had been on bail.

Law has been nominated two times for an Oscar for his roles in "Cold Mountain," and "The Talented Mr. Ripley." The latter role won him a BAFTA for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
