October 22, 2007 12:41 p.m. EST Mayur Pahilajani - AHN News Writer Grand Rapids, Mich. - General Electric Aviation, a unit of General Electric Co., on Monday announced that it will upgrade flight management systems for total 200 Boeing aircrafts of Southwest Airlines Co. The reports said GE Aviation has been awarded the contract to design and manufacture the systems of Boeing 737 aircrafts. The renewed systems will help the aircrafts to track to an accuracy of 10 meters. It can also keep a track of the time of travel from 10 seconds to any point of time during the flight plan, reports Forbes. GE Aviation is likely to deliver the upgraded systems within the next two years. Meanwhile, no financial agreement terms were disclosed.
