Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A news camera caught Vice President Dick Cheney sleeping during an emergency cabinet meeting held last Wednesday. The meeting was convened to determine how the federal government could provide relief to California as it battles devastating wildfires.

A video of the vice president in the middle of his nap was aired on ABC's Good Morning America, Thursday. According to Raw Story, Cheney has been caught napping in the past.

In April 2006, Cheney was caught sleeping during a press briefing with President George Bush and Chinese President Hu Jintao. At the time, Cheney insisted that he was merely looking down on his notes. Reporters also caught Cheney sleeping in May 2006, during a meeting on Iraq.

Frank James of the Baltimore Sun wrote about the California wildfire meeting incident, describing that the vice president "was very smooth, very quiet about it. In short, he was very Cheney."

"It's not everyday that you see the vice president nod off during a discussion of a huge calamity. That makes it worth nothing," James added.
