October 26, 2007 7:59 a.m. EST Corabella Akut - AHN News Writer Guangzhou, China (AHN) - In anticipation of the 2008 Summer Olympics, a Chinese groom had a wedding gown specially made for his bride measuring 200.8 meters (658.8 feet) long. Ken, who hails from the city Guangzhou, says he originally planned to make the dress 2008 meters long, in tribute to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games but buckled down later saying the additional 8 meters would make the gown more difficult to handle. "I changed the length to 200.8, and I hope the long train will bind us together forever," he said. "I was amazed to hear that he wanted such a long wedding dress for his fiancee, but I was quite touched by his sincerity," said Zhang Xiaoyun, the owner of the factory which created the gown. "It's 200.8 metres long, with 208 butterfly knots, and the tail is three meters wide. The whole piece weighs close to 100kg." Zhang said it took them three months to finish the gown.
