Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Tyra Banks is quickly turning into a media mogul and Warner Bros. Television (WB) is getting ready to make bank after signing the former Victoria's Secret model to a new expansive multiyear deal.
The new deal will allow Banks to continue her run with "America's Next Top Model," and also give her the opportunity to branch out into films.
One of the first projects on Banks' list will be a direct-to-DVD series with the adaptation of the bestselling teen novels "Clique," which explores the complex world of young-adult social politics.
"I've been a mean girl and I've been teased, so I identify with both sides of it," Banks said in a statement to Daily Variety. "This is very much my brand, especially as teenage girls are dedicated to watching both my shows."
Banks will act as executive producer of the teen DVD series, which has been in the works since last summer.
Banks could also be looking to expand her reality television repertoire and has said that she is looking to create shows "that attract my core audience" and in keeping with her current "fierce" attitude she hopes the shows remain "aspirational and empowering."
