Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Legendary star of screen and stage Robert Goulet has died. The singer/actor was 73 years old, and had been hospitalized in Las Vegas on September 30th for Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Goulet had been awaiting an emergency lung transplant since October 13th, when he was transferred to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The enigmatic star had of late become one of the most parodied faces in Hollywood, as his successful crooning career began to overshadow his theatrical past.

Born in Canada, Goulet hit Broadway with performances in "Camelot" and "Happy Time"; and later became known for TV roles that included "The Jackie Gleason Show", "Cannon", and "Fantasy Island."

Goulet is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vera, and his sons Christopher and Michael.
