London, United Kingdom (AHN) - A group of British women artists, which includes former Eurythmics lead singer Annie Lennox, is planning to send Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi a piano, according to a London-based newspaper.

The Sunday Times reported that the group is led by actress Maureen Lipman and includes Lennox, film producer Norma Heyman and arts fundraiser Joyce Hytner.

Suu Kyi is reportedly a music lover and owns a broken piano, which the group hopes to replace.

The report quoted Lipman as saying, "It just seemed a good and nice idea."

The newspaper said the British women artists have already raised the funds to buy the piano but has not worked out the details like what model to buy or how to ship it to Myanmar.

The Myanmar opposition leader is currently on house arrest for years now and the ruling military junta in the country has been receiving international pressure to talk peace with Suu Kyi's group.
