Tokyo, Japan (AHN) - Mobile service newcomer eMobile Ltd. will start offering Japanese wireless subscribers the fastest and fixed price data service on Dec. 12.

According to Japantimes.com, the new service allows downloads at a rate of 7.2 megabytes per second using the so-called high-speed down-link packet access (HSDPA) technology. The firm offered a maximum download speed of 3.6 Mbps when it started its 3.5G service in March.

The service can be availed for $46 a month, the same rate as in its 3.6 Mbps service.

EMobile is a subsidiary of Japan's third largest Internet service provider, eAccess. It was the first company in 13 years to enter the highly competitive wireless market in Japan.
