November 27, 2007 9:24 p.m. EST Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer Adelaide, Australia (AHN) - Adelaide, Australia-based Beach Petroleum has found a new oil field in a less-explored area of South Australia. The Parsons field containing an estimated one million barrels of oil is located on the western edge of the Cooper Basin, close to Beach Petroleum's Callawonga field. The area in central Australia is known as the West Patchawarra Flank. Beach managing director Reg Nelson said the discovery proves that the under-explored region of the Cooper-Eromanga Basins is a significant oil sub-province. Nelson added that because the quality of oil in the Parsons Field is excellent and production flow is better than in Callawonga Field, Beach is planning to build a new pipeline to deliver the oil to its Moomba processing plant in the Cooper-Eromanga Basins. The Callawonga Field's output is more than 5,000 barrels of oil per day.
