November 27, 2007 11:00 p.m. EST Isabelle Duerme - AHN News Writer Aiken, SC (AHN) - A man was arrested by police after a bank teller in South Carolina caught him trying to open a bank account with a fake $1 million bill. Alexander D. Smith, 31, simply walked up to the teller and asked for a new account, presenting the $1 million bill. When the bank teller refused to open the account and called the police, Smith reportedly started cursing the bank workers. WSAV reported that according to Aiken County Sheriff spokesman Lt. Michael Frank, Smith will be charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of forgery. The AP added that the second charge of forgery was after it was discovered that Smith purchased several cartons of cigarettes using a fake check. Lt. Frank made it clear that the U.S. government has never printed a million dollar bill.
