December 12, 2007 9:26 a.m. EST Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer Smyrna, TN (AHN) - A 2006 deal between Nissan North America Inc. and Suzuki Motor Corp. to build the latter's midsize pickup trucks in the former's plant in Tennessee will start next year. According to the Manaichi Daily News, the two companies announced on Tuesday that the Suzuki pickups based on Nissan's Frontier midsize pickup will be built at the factory in Smyrna. Suzuki will sell the pickups in North America. Suzuki did not provide details of the truck design. The plant-sharing deal forge in 2006 also provides that Suzuki build small Nissan cars for sale to Europe and Japan, and for Nissan to supply minivans to Suzuki. Nissan does not makes its own small vehicles. Suzuki also has plant-sharing deals with French and Indian carmakers. It had a similar arrangement with General Motors Corp.
