Montreal, Canada (AHN) - A father sold the hard-to-find video game "Guitar Hero III he bought for his son for $90 as a Christmas present at an online auction for a whopping $9,000 after he caught his 15-year-old teenage son smoking marijuana.

The sale occurred after the father searched for the video game for the Nintendo WII game board. The father spent two weeks searching for the video game as a Christmas present for his boy.

The father wrote on the eBay website how relieved he was to find what he called "the Holy Grail of Christmas presents" in the nick of time. But when he came home from work early one day he caught his "innocent little boy smoking pot in the back yard with two of his delinquent friends," according to media reports.

According to the school teacher father who asked not to be identified, selling the video game served the two-fold purpose of punishing his son for smoking pot and discouraging him from doing it again. In addition, the family budget got some hefty help from the $9,010 profit the dad made from selling his son's gift on eBay.
