Sally Grover - Celebrity News Service News Writer New York, NY (CNS) - David Letterman and all of his writers will be returning to work. The late night comedian and the people behind his jokes will be back on TV after a break that started on November 5. As the writers strike prepares to enter its third month, Letterman has reached an agreement with the Writers Guild of America to allow his writers to return to work without disrupting the strike and picket line. Exact details of the agreement have not been revealed. Letterman released a statement saying, "This is not a solution to the strike, which unfortunately continues to disrupt the lives of thousands. But I hope it will be seen as a step in the right direction." The "Late Show" host had been paying the wages of other crew members out of his own pocket, rather than laying them off over the holiday season. The Letterman crew will return to CBS on January 2. Letterman's competitors, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, are also returning to TV screens. However, they will be without writers.
