New York, NY (CNS) - Neo-Southern Rock will live on in 2008, as the boozy drive of indie-jam crossovers the Drive By Truckers is scheduled to make a stop at your local record store later this month.

"Brighter Than Creation's Dark" drops on January 22nd, with a supporting North American and European tour - dubbed "The Home Front 2008 World Tour" - to follow with dates in February and March. Three gigs in the Southern rock Mecca known as Athens, Georgia will preview the album and the tour, with a full onstage recreation of 'Brighter.'

The album marks the band's first effort without guitarist Jason Isbell, whose songwriting responsibilities have been taken over by bassist Shonna Tucker.

Also, in true retro-rocker, vintage-tee form, the band will release most of it's back catalogue on vinyl. Of the band's seven previous albums, "Gangstabilly," "Pizza Deliverance," "Decoration Day," "The Dirty South," and 2006's "A Blessing and a Curse," their latest, will all be offered as limited edition 45s.
