New York (AHN) - MSNBC's Morning Joe correspondent David Shuster erupted in an impromptu rant aimed at Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, who he accused of being "a jerk."

The incident occurred Monday morning, during a discussion about the Democratic primaries. In the middle of the segment Shuster segued to O'Reilly, afterwards saying "I don't know if this is the time to talk about Bill O'Reilly, but I've got a lot of things to say."

After being told to "get it out," Shuster spat out, "Bill O'Reilly is a jerk."

He referred to a recent incident involving O'Reilly and an aide to presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, who he was accused of shoving.

"Bill O'Reilly shoved a guy," Raw Story quoted Shuster, "shoved a guy who was working for Barack Obama because the guy happened to be standing in a certain spot. And there's Bill O'Reilly saying 'Nobody gets in the way of the Factor's cameras.'"

"Fox News ought to be so embarrassed with this guy," Shuster added.

Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski chimed in, "He's a cartoon character."

"It is unfortunate," said host Joe Scarborough, "that that's the way he's got to get glimpses of presidential candidates."

The incident mentioned by Shuster was a January 5 Barack Obama event in Nashua, New Hampshire, where O'Reilly allegedly shoved one of the senator's staffers, Marvin Nicholson, out of the way.

The AP reported that according to Nicholson, O'Reilly shouted at him to get out of the camera shot.

"Then he grabbed me with both of his arms and tried to push me out of the way," said Nicholson.

"I told him, 'Sir, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't shove me anymore,'" Nicholson continued, who added that O'Reilly called him "low class."

O'Reilly responded, "We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation, but no one on this Earth is going to block a shot on 'The O'Reilly Factor.'"
