January 8, 2008 6:42 p.m. EST Christine Agus Gaylican - AHN News Writer Columbus, Ohio (AHN) - Some avid fans of the Buckeyes have turned emotional after the team lost to the LSU resulting in police arrests in the Ohio State campus. The Police said some 15 people were held in custody for attempted arson and misbehavior after the game. Police spokeswoman Amanda Ford said Tuesday that between 10 and 12 fires were reported as some trash bins were found to be set on fire. Loyal Buckeye fans could not help but be somber for the team's defeat for the second straight year edge at the title. The usual festive mood along High Street-which is a known hangout near campus-has been replaced by disheartened acts of frustration that some did quietly, but others turned rowdy. Ford said majority of the arrests were on charges of disorderly conduct or resisting arrest, though two were being investigated for arson after trash bins were set on fire. The Ohio State fans were very supportive of their team as some have shortened their work and school hours to catch the game early in the day. The football team was scheduled to return Tuesday afternoon. Coach Jim Tressel will not be joining the team and will head to California for a coaching convention, a school statement said.
