PETA Uses Jamie Lynn's Scandal For Ad

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - In yet another bold move by PETA, the animal rights organization uses Jamie Lynn Spears as its unwitting model for its latest campaign.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals jumps on the hype of 16-year-old pregnant sister of Britney's scandal and use her to spread the message to owners to spay and neuter their pets. The new Internet video features another 16-year-old girl being encouraged to become sexually active by her parents. The girl asks, "What if I get pregnant?" in which the parents replied by urging her to "pop out all the kids you can." The ad's message concludes: "Parents shouldn't act this way. Neither should people with dogs and cats. Always spay or neuter."

PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk claims the ad was filmed before the young Spears announced her pregnancy shocker last month, but still hopes viewers will make the connection.

"Just as Lynne Spears (Britney and Jamie Lynn's mother) is under scrutiny because of her underage daughter's pregnancy, people who fail to spay and neuter their animals should also be feeling the heat. No one should be bringing more animals into the world when millions of deserving, wonderful dogs and cats are dying for good homes."

And while still insisting the film was not patterned on Spears, PETA has arranged to air the ad on Spears' local ABC associate, WGNO, in her local Louisiana.
