Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - More good news for Vanessa Hudgens. Just after her official signing with High School Musical's third film, the actress has settled a lawsuit filed against her by her former legal rep.

Attorney Brian L. Schall sued 19-year-old Hudgens in September for breach of contract and unjust enrichment. He claimed he had helped the young actress secure songwriting and recording deals that earned her more than $5 million. Hudgens had allegedly agreed to pay him 5% of her gross earnings from the deals and to keep him paying up to 12 months after their business relationship ended. Hudgens had apparently paid him some of the promised fee but still owed him around $150,000 plus fees.

Hudgens claimed that she fired Schall earlier in the year because his services fell "below professional standards." She filed a motion seeking to have Schall's lawsuit dismissed in November on the grounds that she was only 16 when she hired him. She had brought with her a copy of her birth certificate showing December 14, 1988 as her birth date and a copy of the letter she sent to her former lawyer on October 9 officially ending their contract.

The L.A. Superior Court rejected Hudgen's motion to dismiss the case last month. So to avoid going to trial altogether, the singer had elected to settle instead. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Hudgens will reprise her role as Gabriela Montez in the hit Disney musical. She's also set to star in a new movie "Will" as a school misfit.
