January 19, 2008 11:36 a.m. EST Nicole King - AHN News Writer Tallahassee, FL (AHN) - Criminals are using some well-known brands to smuggle drugs, money and illegal aliens into the country. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says in a new 28-page report that criminals are using brands such as FedEx, DirecTV, Wal-Mart and also agencies such as the U.S. Border Patrol, creating fake trucks. The report is also warning that terrorists could employ the same tactics to carry out attacks. The report outlines how easy it is for criminals to obtain materials to make fake trucks, such as fake logos and signs. On a recent traffic stop, police found more than 3,000 pounds of marijuana and 200 kilograms of cocaine in a fake Wal-Mart trailer driven by a man wearing a Wal-Mart uniform. In another instance, a fake DirecTV truck was found carrying more than 780 pounds of cocaine.
