Usher's Dad Dies

Atlanta, GA (CNS) - Usher's father, Usher Raymond III, has died. The father of the R&B superstar has passed away at an Atlanta hospital on January 18.

The singer's rep has confirmed the report that the father died of yet-unknown causes. Usher, wife Tameka, and mother Jonetta Patton were reportedly present at the time of his death. Patton and Raymond had been separated after their son's birth.

The funeral is set to take place this week in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Taylor funeral home chapel.

Usher, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, has become a father himself on November 26 of last year. He named his son Usher Raymond V.
