February 20, 2008 10:53 p.m. EST Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer San Francisco, CA (AHN) - More consumers seeking discounts on groceries are getting their coupons on the Internet rather than from the traditional source, newspapers. Internet coupon publisher Coupons Inc. reported 32 million shoppers went online for coupons online rather than clipping paper coupons. Shoppers seek the printable coupons at websites of retailers, 550 newspapers, local TV stations, manufacturers and major portals like Yahoo!. They also seek online coupons at savings sites and at Coupons.com. Coupons Inc., which provides coupons on the websites of some 600 leading household product brands, said the monthly savings printed by consumers has more than quadrupled. It added that visitors to its flagship site, Coupons.com, grew over 700 percent in 2007.
