Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Internet advertising, an increasingly larger slice of the ad-buying pie, continued to advance in 2007. Online advertising was up 25 percent, to $21.1 billion, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The final figure topped even the record 24 percent jump in Internet ads during the fourth-quarter of 2007, amounting to a first-time $5.9 billion in online advertising. The news comes as Internet players, including Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft grapple to control the growing online advertising space. Traditional media companies and publishers are also pushing to obtain a foothold in the increasingly lucrative Internet ad arena.
