Forsberg To Be Game-Time Decision Tuesday Against Vancouver

Denver, CO (AHN) - Returning former MVP Peter Forsberg, who is still nursing an injured right foot, will decide after Tuesday's morning skate if he would play in Colorado's home game against Vancouver.
"There is a chance he could play tomorrow," Avalanche coach Joel Quenneville said of Forsberg, who participated in his first workout with the team on Monday. "It's going to come from Peter because he knows his body a little better than us."
The 34-year-old center, who was signed by Colorado for the remainder of the season, is hopeful he could see action against the Canucks, just in time when the Avalanche badly need scoring help in the winding season. He said he will be a "game-time decision."
"We'll see tomorrow morning," he said. "To be honest, the foot felt like it was pulling and this was the first day of practice today. It's going to be tough to sit out, but I have to realize I haven't played a game in eight months and I just had the one practice."
Forsberg made headlines last week when he decided to return to the league to play for the Avalanche, his former team of nine seasons that included winning two Stanley Cup titles.
His presence on the ice will be a big boost for the current eighth-placed team in the West, especially since scorers Marek Svatos and Ryan Smyth were both injured on Saturday.
