Hanoi, Vietnam (AHN) - Vietnam will host an international conference and showcase. Dubbed as Security World 2008, it will gather under one venue the participation of 30 prestigious speakers and over 20 well-known information technology companies from March 19-20, organizers said Friday.

The event is themed "Strengthening Security Awareness and Deployment." It will be conducted by the General Department of Technology under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the International Data Group. Discussions will include current status and trends, solutions to network and data security in the Asia-Pacific region in general as well as its impact on Vietnam.

Their discussions will center on the implementation of data security systems in stock and e-commerce transactions, solutions to prevent and deal with hacker's attacks targeting mobile phones and computers, and sharing experiences in implementing surveillance activities using advanced cameras and alarm equipment in business entities as well as in urban settings.

The conference is the biggest of its kind. There will be speakers from foreign firms such as Cisco Systems and Symantec as well as representatives from the Vietnamese ministries and organizations.

Organizers estimate over 500 delegates and 1,000 visitors will attend the two-day event.
