March 18, 2008 1:18 p.m. EST Shannon Moore - Celebrity News Service Nassau, Bahamas (CNS) - An inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son, Daniel Smith, revealed today that Daniel may have stolen some of Anna Nicole's methadone. Larry Birkhead, Smith's former boyfriend, testified at the inquest in the Bahamas that he and Smith had reviewed surveillance tapes at Anna's house back in April 2006 after some of her methadone went missing. According to TMZ, he testified that Daniel and some of his friends stole the drug. Birkhead also changed his story and told the inquest that he now isn't certain that he saw Howard K. Stern, Anna's attorney and lover, and Daniel smoking marijuana despite telling the authorities that he witnessed that in 2006. Daniel died in September 2006 at his mother's bed side while visiting her at a maternity ward in the Bahamas after she gave birth to his half-sister, Dannielynn Hope. The autopsy report showed that he died of an accidental overdose of methadone and the anti-depressants Lexapro and Zoloft. The inquest also revealed that Daniel was taken to a Los Angeles Hospital in July 2006 for an overdose of Valium.
