Vancouver, Canada (AHN) - In an effort to boost interest in filmmaking, the Vancouver Film School has joined hands with YouTube to offer a full VFS scholarship in an international competition for the best three-minute video.

With format being optional - film, animation, or any other creative idea - the video must carry the theme "What Matters To You".

The videos, upon submission, will be posted on the YouTube from May 20 to 27, and be voted on by the site's visitors.

"The goal of the VFS Channel on YouTube is twofold," said Stephen Webster, the VFS director of marketing. "To entertain the world and to show it what our students can do. We've had phenomenal response from YouTube viewers; they want to know how to come to VFS and we want to help them get here."

The scholarships offered are worth from $17,000 to $52,000, according to the Vancouver Free Press.

Deadline for submissions is May 9, and winners will be announced May 30.
