New York, NY (CNS) - Newscaster Anderson Cooper reveals his cancer scare. The Emmy Award-winning journalist has written on his blog about the surgery he went through for his skin cancer.

Anderson, 40, writes: "On a personal note, I've been off for the last couple of days. I had minor surgery on Monday. A small spot of skin cancer was removed from under my left eye. I hadn't planned on mentioning this, but I still have stitches and you'll no doubt notice them tonight."

The reporter continues, "Don't want you to think I got into a fistfight with Charlie Rose."

Anderson is currently the primary anchor of "Anderson Cooper 360,°" a two-hour news show on CNN.
