College Park, MD (AHN) -- Playing on its home floor for the second straight NCAA Tournament game, Maryland looked nothing like the No. 1 seed in the Spokane Regional before putting away eighth-seeded Nebraska 76-64 on Tuesday to advance to the Sweet 16 and a date with fourth-seeded Vanderbilt on Saturday in the semifinals.

Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver led Maryland (32-3) with 19 points apiece, followed by Crystal Langhorne with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Terps advance to the Regional semifinals for only the second time in the last eight years. The last time they advanced this far they won the 2006 national championship.

Yvonne Turner scored a career-high 23 points for Nebraska (21-12).

Despite playing on its home court, Maryland struggled against No. 16 Coppin State in the opening round and again against the Cornhuskers.

Maryland led by as many as 15 in the first half, but Nebraska closed on a 16-2 run to pull to 34-33 at the half.

The Cornhuskers tied the game at 45-45 before Coleman hit a jumper with 14:36 to give Maryland the lead for good. Still, it was only 65-61 before the Terps finally pulled away.
