Bridgeport, CT (AHN) -- Freshman Maya Moore scored 24 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots as top-ranked Connecticut shot 60 percent from the field in a lopsided 89-55 win over eighth-seeded Texas on Tuesday to advance to the Sweet 16 for the 15th consecutive season.

Renee Montgomery added 17 points and Tina Charles 15 for No. 1 Connecticut (34-1), who have won its first two NCAA Tournament games by 42 and 44 points.

Carla Cortijo led Texas (22-13) with 18 points and Earnesia Williams added 12.

The Longhorns had won six of their last seven, including a 72-55 victory over Minnesota in the first round.

Moore hit six of her first seven shots, including four 3-pointers on the way to her first 20-point game since a 29-point outburst against LSU on Feb. 25.

The Huskies were dominant from the start on Tuesday, hitting 12 of their first 17 shots for a 31-13 lead in the first nine minutes.

UConn finished with 52 points in the paint.

The Huskies will play fifth-seeded Old Dominion (31-4) in the Regional semifinals on Sunday. ODU has won 25 of its last 26, but lost to UConn 86-43 back on Nov. 23.
