Bon Jovi Guitarist Richie Sambora Arrested On DUI Charge

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was arrested on a DUI charge in Laguna Beach, California on Tuesday night after being pulled over by the police because his vehicle was weaving. Sambora's girlfriend, daughter and daughter's friend were all in the car he was driving, a Hummer.

Sambora's daughter, Ava, is his daughter with ex-wife Heather Locklear. Sambora was given a blood alcohol test because according to the police he smelled like alcohol. The police reported that he was quiet and cooperative and caused no problems.

Sambora was later released from custody on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on May 7.

Sambora entered a treatment facility in June 2007 saying he was drinking too much and needed to get his life together. The 48-year-old musician had a difficult 2007. His divorce from Locklear was finalized, he broke up with Denise Richards, his girlfriend of one year and his father died of lung cancer.

Bon Jovi's next tour date is Monday in Denver.
