Isabelle Duerme - AHN News Writer Sunnyvale, CA (AHN) - The newest release of the Yahoo! Messenger beta for Mac users now comes with VoIP services, which will allow Mac users to converse via voice, from one Mac to another. The new service will allow Mac users with Yahoo! Messenger accounts to send voice messages to the people on their friends list. The addition will also allow for SMS sending, via the computer. All of these services will come free of charge. According to Macworld, there is also the option of using the YM for mobile and landline calls, a feature that will need a Phone Out account, for which the users need to apply. They may also receive calls from mobiles or landlines, provided they are subscribed to the Phone In account. The accounts come with a small fee. It also comes with a webcam access feature, and "conferences," or chat conversations between three or more people," is also enabled. A Mashable article on the new version highlighted the newly added feature that allows for file transfer for up to 2 GB. The new version features tabbed chat windows, making multiple conversations much more organized. The version is currently available for download at the Yahoo! Messenger website.
