March 27, 2008 7:47 a.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Roxbury, CT (CNS) - Hollywood actor Richard Widmark has died. The actor who famously portrayed a giggling sociopath villain in "Kiss Of Death" has passed away at his home in Connecticut Monday. He was 93. His wife, Susan Blanchard, says the actor died after a long illness. Widmark's role in the 1947 film noir "Kiss of Death" had been his first movie appearance. The movie, which was a critical and commercial success, gave way to his seven-year contract with 20th Century Fox. The role also won him a Golden Globe for New Star Of The Year and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also starred in 1950's "Panic in the Streets" and "Night and the City." His last film had been "True Colors" in 1991.
