March 27, 2008 9:12 a.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Los Angeles Lakers' center Pau Gasol, who is out due to an ankle injury, will not suit up for the Lakers game against Charlotte Wednesday and is likely to miss Friday's game against Memphis according to coach Phil Jackson. Jackson said that Gasol, who missed six games with a moderate left ankle spasm, hasn't had a setback but his condition also "didn't improve between Saturday and today." "It's swelling," Jackson reportedly told the Los Angeles Times. "Swelling creates soreness. I'm sure he'd like to be back and play [against] Memphis, but I don't know if that's a possibility or not. That's a pretty short order." Gasol, who has averaged 19 points and eight rebounds since coming to Los Angeles from Memphis, was not at the Lakers training facility on Wednesday.
