Annie Simoy - AHN News Writer Summerside, Prince Edward Island (AHN) - Around 20 mussel plant employees in Springbrook were brought to hospital after suffering from high levels of carbon monoxide Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., when some employees started to report sickness due to inhalation. Employees of the Prince Edward Aqua Farms were provided with oxygen at the scene before they were brought to a Summerside hospital Acting executive director of the Prince County Hospital Brenda Worth said the workers were given more oxygen treatment at the hospital and were recovering. "They're actually all feeling pretty good at this point in time," World said in an interview with CBC News. "We haven't confirmed it yet but we are trying to narrow it down and it looks like it might be one of the forklifts. If there is a problem with their exhaust, they can give off carbon monoxide,'' Plant's manager Jerry Bidgood told The Guardian.
