Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - It's always nice to get to know your neighbors. That's what happened on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday night when soccer star David Beckham visited with Jay Leno and the two talked about living in the same neighborhood in Burbank. They joked about driving themselves around and the presence of the paparazzi.

Beckham apologized to Leno for the constant state of paparazzi in the neighborhood since he has moved in. The Galaxy player did say the American paparazzi were kinder than the celebrity photographers in Europe.

After chatting about life in the suburbs, Leno quizzed Beckham about his ads for Emporio Armani which feature the soccer star in his underwear. Leno asked Beckham if he always sat around in his underwear.

The ladies in the audience went crazy when Leno showed a photo of the brief-clad Beckham with his ripped abs. Beckham didn't seem so nervous about the women in the audience, but said having his "mum" see the ads was a bit different.

The soccer star said, "When the photos came out, she was the first one to call me and say, 'What are you doing?' I had to try and explain it to her and it didn't go down that well."
