Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Not every girl was impressed with David Beckham's underwear-clad body when he posed for Emporio Armani ads last December. His mom was less than ecstatic about the larger-than-life billboards that made women swoon with delight. The star footballer, 32, tells Jay Leno during his "Tonight Show" appearance, "When the photos came out, she was the first one to call me and say, 'What are you doing?'" "I had to try and explain it to her and it didn't go down that well." The studio audience, however, hollered their approval when Leno flashed one of the pictures in question. The late night talk show host also empathized with Beckham about the life in the same Los Angeles neighborhood where they both live in. The sportsman apologized for the paparazzi who camp outside his and wife Victoria's home. But even with the over-zealous photographers who prey celebrities in the city, Beckham noted that they have been more "kind" to them than those in his native London. Beckham and his family moved into the states last year to fulfill his contract with the L.A. Galaxy.
