Admitting that she was still suffering from her loss, 75-year old Wan Fengxia said that she still wrote letters, each one expressing her love for him, as well as the memories she had of him.
The woman had in total written around 530 letters, according to Xinhua,
"If I tell people around me all the time about my feelings, they might get bored," she explained. "But the letters won't."
Most of the letters contained Wan's expressions of their life together, as well as the one she continues to live.
The more recent ones, however, spoke of the upcoming Beijing Olympics, as well as the launch of a manned space shuttle.
"My husband used to follow closely such major events both at home and abroad," said Wan, as quoted by the UPI. "I know he would like to know these things."
According to Wan, upon reaching an age where she would be too old to write the letters, she would spend most of her time reading them, and re-living her days with her deceased husband.
Wan donated 68 of the letters to a Chinese museum that featured letters writing home to China.
