Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Teri Hatcher is set to show off her singing skills in the American Idol charity fundraiser event next week. The Desperate Housewives star will lend her voice on the mini-telethon on April 9 for "Idol Gives Back," which aims to raise money and awareness for families and children living in poverty and at risk.
One-time Bond girl Hatcher, 43, will join fellow stars in the event including Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, Annie Lennox, Kiefer Sutherland, and Bono among others. According to the New York Daily News, the actress will perform Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" with her co-star James Denton and Hugh Laurie's group "The Band From TV."
Ellen DeGeneres was tapped to host the show, but has pulled out due to "personal production pressure."
The Idol organizers are aiming to raise over $100 million for charities including Save The Children, The Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tubercolosis and Malaria, and Children's Defense Fund.
