April 7, 2008 9:57 p.m. EST Jan Westmark - Celebrity News Service Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest has seen firsthand the sad lives of the children in Africa. That's why the host is not only hosting "Idol Gives Back" on Wednesday, but also donating his paycheck for the evening. Seacrest and Idol judge Simon Cowell went to Africa last year and saw the children and sources close to Seacrest say it was a life changing experience for him. Fortunately for all the charities that will benefit from "Idol Gives Back," Seacrest is putting his money where his mouth is. Seacrest's donation will hopefully encourage other stars, and average people alike, to donate to the cause. "Idol Gives Back" will air Wednesday night on FOX.
