New York, NY (AHN) - Blogging and online reporting may be two of the most dangerous jobs, the New York Times reported.
The paper reported that stress comes from a near constant need to post online. The article spotlighted the recent deaths of bloggers Russell Shaw, 60, and Marc Orchant, 50, and the recent survivor of a heart attack, Om Malik, 41.
While some see working at home as a convenience, it has made it difficult for many bloggers to separate work from rest. The online writers also feel the added stress of constantly seeking out stories to one-up the competition.
The stress of working online not only affects bloggers, but many in the information technology business in general. According to the article, stress mounts even further when the amount of traffic a page is able to generate becomes the basis of how much money a writer earns.
