Pacoima, CA (CNS) - Sportswear company Juicy Couture, maker of the famous terrycloth sweat suit and hoodies emblazoned with "Juicy" across the back, is suing campus gossip site juicycampus.com for trademark infringement.

Juicycampus.com is a website devoted to allowing college students to create anonymous posts about various subjects. Lime Blue, the parent company of the website sold promotional t-shirts and hoodies labeled "Juicycampus."

Matt Ivester, the founder of juicycampus.com, thinks the lawsuit is ridiculous, saying, "We are a gossip website and they are a clothing brand, so we're really surprised that they're filing this lawsuit and we feel like it's just malicious."

Unfortunately for Ivester, the promotional items brought in less than $100 in sales, possibly making this a very expensive lawsuit for the website. The tee shirts have since been pulled from the website.

Juicy Couture was purchased in 2002 by Liz Claiborne Inc. The line is based out of Pacoima, California and is mainly sold in upscale retail stores.
