"Gossip Girl" Star Leighton Meester Wants To Become A Fashion Designer

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester wants to join the Hollywood pack of stars who have turned from actors into fashion designers. Meester said nothing was in the works but she would love to design her own clothing line.

The actress told NYLON Magazine that, "I love fashion, and sometimes I just feel like if I could only do and make whatever I wanted, it would make so much of a statement and really express who I am."

In recent months quite a few actors have turned into designers, including Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Rachel Bilson, and even some guys including Matthew McConaughey and Luke Wilson.

Meester isn't deterred by the fact that others are doing it also. She said, "In the future I would love to do a clothing label or work with a clothing label."
