Copenhagen, Denmark (AHN) - A cemetery in Copenhagen has designated an area for homosexuals who wish to be buried with people of the same sexual orientation.

The area in Assistens Cemetery is funded by an association called Regnbuen (Rainbow). It rented space in the cemetery that can accommodate up to 45 urns. Each spot costs $526 (2,500 kroner}.

The gays' area is separated from the rest of the cemetery by a large triangle of pebbles on the ground, with a big rock placed on one of the angles. The triangle become a symbol for gays after Nazis forced homosexuals to wear a pink triangle.
