Matt Aug - AHN Sports Reporter East Rutherford, N.J. (AHN) - What a difference a year makes when it comes to Michael Strahan's playing status with the New York Giants. A year after an acrimonious summer in which Strahan didn't join the team until the season started, the Giants almost seem content to wait for the future Hall of Famer to decide whether or not he will return for another year with "Big Blue." Perhaps the Giants are already pleased about a roster that returns almost all the same parts from its remarkable Super Bowl season, or maybe the team knows the defensive end can still be a significant contributor even if he misses camp. Whatever the reason, the Giants are playing it cool even as they plan for the upcoming draft to replenish the squad. "We'd like Michael to make a decision before (the draft), but I don't think that's going to happen," Giants G.M. Jerry Reese told the N.Y. Daily News. "He deserves to take the time he needs, but sooner is better for us." Strahan, 36, was near the top of his game last season despite the early turmoil, collecting 57 tackles and nine sacks while providing valuable leadership for a team that stunned the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
