Siddique Islam - AHN South Asia Correspondent Kathmandu, Nepal (AHN) - A Shree Air helicopter crashed at Makalu Base Camp in the country's northeastern Solukhumbu district on Saturday. Solukhumbu district, a part of Sagarmatha zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The chopper was carrying at least eight people along with the aircraft crew, the Kantipur news, a local news portal, reported quoting the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal. The aircraft was bound from Lukla when it crashed at Makalu Base Camp, some 125 kilometers (77 miles) east of the capital, Kathmandu, at around 8:37 a.m. (0252 GMT). Nobody on board were injured, while the front part of the aircraft has been damaged, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
