Claire Danes Is The New Face Of Gucci Fine Jewelry Line

New York, NY (CNS) - "Stardust" star Claire Danes is now a Gucci girl. The actress has just been announced as the new face of the upcoming Gucci fine jewelry campaign.

Danes, 29, replaces the fashion house's first celebrity campaigner Drew Barrymore, who had represented the line from 2007 to 2008.

Gucci creative director Frida Giannini is quoted by fashionweekdaily.com to say, "Claire Danes is a modern icon. For me she is one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene."

"She is very natural, fresh, and has a carefree attitude which can also be seen in the roles she has chosen. Claire's sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today's Gucci woman."

Danes says of her new role, "I am thrilled and honored to be working with Gucci on their jewelry campaign. Frida is a very inspiring and creative woman. Her vision is extraordinary and I am excited to be a part of it."

The campaign will be shot by photographers Inez van Lamsweede and Vinoodh Matadin. It will debut in fall fashion books.
