Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Just a week after being ordered to pay her legal representatives $400,000, Britney Spears needs to shell out thousands more to pay taxes. The pop star's company owes more than $23,000 in back taxes.

E! news reports that a document shows that one of the 26-year-old "Toxic" singer's brand-name companies owes $23,589.17 in California state taxes on their 2004 earnings.

Franchise Tax Board of the State of California says that "further interest and fees will accrue" if the sum is still not paid.

This problem would most probably fall into her dad Jamie's mess-solving capacity as he had been appointed conservator of the singer's financial affairs since February this year.

It is still not known if Britney's other brand-name companies face similar tax problems.
